About Us
The Veterans and Military Families Caucus (VMFC) was formed by the Democratic Party of Virginia State Central Committee in February 2009 to represent those who are foregoing, or who have foregone, the standard comforts of life in the United states in order to provide for the security of their fellow citizens.
Our mission is to educate our communities on the long held Democratic Party values of fostering the well being of our veterans and military families and to educate the leadership of our party in the interests and needs of our veterans and military families.
The caucus advocates for issues of importance to our community and for public policy implementation which directly enhances the lives of veterans and military families.
The caucus also serves as a party resource committed to supporting Democrats across the full spectrum of elective office. The caucus helps to elect Democratic candidates by providing a centralized repository of expertise, and a clearinghouse for all veterans and military families campaign activities.
In addition, the VMFC will encourage participation of veterans in the party, encourage, educate, and finance veterans who aspire to public office, and raise awareness of veterans’ and military family issues in the Commonwealth and the Democratic Party of Virginia.
